The Time Is Drawing Near To Decide, Let's See What You're Working With

Letter to the Editor:

As it has been said and hinted for the last several months many including myself are on the horizon ready to seize the opportunity  to jump into the Mayoral race next year given the consensus of poor performance by the current administration.

At the end of the day I want those that choose to run and compete for the City of Patersons' top job to know I have no personal or ill will toward anyone seeking the nod to run the city next election.  T
he target and focus  should be the incumbent in City Hall now since there is no primary to thin the field for a party sponsored candidate. However, I am prepared to lay out my credentials for comparison before we even state our intentions officially... The need for an administrator with experience and training is what's needed to deliver and execute a plan from a collective community visioning process.  As there are no real parameters set beyond residency, age and minimal education to qualify to run the door is wide open to any and all interested and conceptually that's fine.

The current Paterson condition is in need of seasoned accountable leadership, skilled in many areas to define and promote the stop and reverse of the direction currently headed in for short, intermediate and long term  measured outcomes to deliverable success.  Therefore, I have chosen to submit a summary of my relevant  employment and service history for comparison to see who brings the needed proven skill set to seek the office and perform at the level needed. I have said and continue to profess if there is someone that in my opinion has and appears to be more qualified I would back out. I have seen the politics and candidates promoted for popularity that is not what Paterson needs and the community deserves better.

I have been involved in private sector Industry management, Public sector administration, programs budgets and managing staff in theOffice of Housing & Neighborhood Development  the fourth largest city in the stat of CT as Executive Director for HUD & CDBG funding, the Director Of Waterbury Housing Assistance Program (WHAP) a housing development corp, President Waterbury Coalition for Better Government, President and founder of the Greater Waterbury Minority Business Association, recipient of the US Small Business Administration Minority Small Business Advocate of the year award, State of CT Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission - Community Service Award, multiple Opportunities Industrial Center awards (OIC), Several CT State General Assembly Legislature citations, Private Sector Not For Profit Community Action Program (CAP) - Social Service Agency Regional Director managed 10's of millions of dollars for low to low-mod benefit clients on many programs, managed hundreds of people over the years have been a grantor and a grantee, Managed State and Federal funds and never sent any money back. Project Leader for IBM Aerospace, Vice President of nationally distributed J'Adore Magazine 1st, 2nd and 3rd Vice President of the Greater Waterbury Branch of the NAACP and more.

So when the adrenaline slows or stops and there is no more air in the collective sails from which to bellow I am sure well intentioned desires, let's see who is the most qualified by recognition, demonstration, knowledge of best practices and experience to challenge Jeff Jones and his feeble attempt to run the City of Paterson.
