Today, Friday June 26, is the Nutley for Black Lives Roll Out and March.

Unfortunately, when organizing this event, we were faced with anti-protests and event threats of violence.

UNICO, an Italian-American organization in town, an anonymous instagram account, and several citizens in town via Facebook, have released strong sentiment for keeping the statue for the sake of "heritage."

Our newsletter delivers the local news that you can trust.

Before clarifying the purpose of today's protest, President Lorraine B. Kuchinski rallied the members of UNICO and approved their counter demonstration in an effort to unnecessarily protect the statue and cause tension around the BLM protest.

We want to make it clear that the protest is not centered around the town's statue, however as Nutley for Black Lives, we do support its legal removal.

Let it be known that Nutley, NJ  Commissioners, Board of Education members, and the Chief of Police are part of UNICO.
