Morristown Police Continue to Investigate Fatal Hit and Run

MORRISTOWN, NJ -  An active investigation into the fatal hit and run that occurred in Morristown on Wednesday June 27 has been confirmed by Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Morristown Police Chief Peter Demnitz.

Authorities have confirmed that they are currently investigating a fatality resulting from a hit and run vehicle collision in the area of Martin Luther King Avenue.  According to reports, police were notified of an injured person believed to have been struck by a vehicle that left the scene.

The victim, Victor Padilla age 27, was transported to Morristown Medical Center. Padilla  died from his injuries ten days later, said police.

The vehicle believed to have been involved in this incident was located by law enforcement shortly after this incident. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation. There are no charges at this time, but the investigation is active and ongoing, they said.
