BRIDGEWATER, NJ - A Hillsborough man was arrested for shoplifting after it was found that he only paid for select merchandise in a self pay line at Target, in the Bridgewater Promenade, Feb. 22 at 5:22 p.m., according to a report from Bridgewater Township Police.

William Stephen Adams, 44, was charged with shoplifting after he was found with $341.48 worth of items after he selected merchandise, then went into a self pay line where he scanned only select items.

He was processed and released pending a court date.

Police made other arrests for driving while intoxicated, shoplifting and more.

  • Emilee Herron, 19, of Flemington, was arrested Feb. 23 at 6:42 p.m. for shoplifting at Macy's, in the Bridgewater Commons Mall, after she was found with $69 worth of makeup. She was processed and released pending a court date.
  • Kenneth J. Polanco, 18, of Somerset, was arrested for shoplifting at Macy's, in the Bridgewater Commons Mall, after she was found with $221 worth of perfume. During a search incident to arrest, police said, Polanco was also found to be in possession of three prescription Legend drugs. He was charged with shoplifting and being in procession of three prescription drugs. He was processed and released pending a court date.
  • A resident of Piscataway reported Feb. 21 that her motor vehicle was burglarized while it was parked in the parking lot of the Kinder Kastle, on Union Avenue.
  • Lavoid McCullough, 42, of Somerville, was arrested for driving while intoxicated Feb. 18 at 11:55 p.m. following a motor vehicle crash on Route 22 West near North Bridge Street. He was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and failure to maintain a lane. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.
  • Erick Torres-Martinez, 24, of West New York, was arrested Feb. 17 at 1:01 a.m. for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Route 22 West. Torres-Martinez was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, driving the wrong way on a one-way highway and being an unlicensed driver. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.
  • Bryon O. Ortiz, 58, of North Plainfield, was arrested Feb. 9 at 6:31 p.m. for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Grove Street. Ortiz was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain a lane and two counts of refusal to submit to a breath test. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.
  • Sophie L. Roberson, 59, of New Brunswick, was arrested Feb. 12 at 11:12 a.m. for shoplifting at Target, in the Bridgewater Promenade, after she was found with $79.97 worth of shirts. During the arrest, she provided officers with a false name. She was charged with shoplifting and hindering apprehension. She was processed and released pending a court date.
  • Chandni Vazirani, 22, of North Brunswick, was arrested Feb. 13 at 6:34 p.m. at Wegmans, in the Bridgewater Towne Centre, and charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was processed and released pending a court appearance.
  • Jorge F. Leon-Arellano, 19, of Plainfield, was arrested Feb. 14 at 2:02 p.m. at Target, in the Bridgewater Promenade, after he selected items and went into the self-pay line, scanning only select merchandise. He didn't pay for $391 worth of items. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.
  • Jonathan A. Galvez-Hernandez, 19, of North Plainfield, was arrested Feb. 14 at 2:02 p.m. at Target, in the Bridgewater Promenade, after he selected merchandise and went into the self pay line where he scanned only select merchandise. He didn't pay for $391 worth of items. He was processed for the arrest and taken to Somerset County Jail.
  • Kabrina N. Carter, 26, of Newark, was arrested for shoplifting at Target, in the Bridgewater Commons Mall, Feb. 17 at 6:50 p.m. after she was found with baby formula valued at $55.98. She was processed and released pending a court date.
  • A Bridgewater resident reported Feb. 17 that her motor vehicle was burglarized while it was parked in the Wegmans parking lot.
