At approximately 9:57 p.m., on December 19th, 2019, Officer Matthew Belcastro arrested Elijah Gerald, age 34 from Orange, New Jersey and charged him with use of drug paraphernalia.

Officer Belcastro observed the vehicle driven by Mr. Gerald drifting within the traffic lane so he initiated a stop. While speaking with him, the officer detected the odor of suspected burnt marijuana. During a search, a marijuana grinder was found and Mr. Gerald was taken into custody. He was transported to Police Headquarters for processing. In addition to the paraphernalia charge, Mr. Gerald was issued a traffic summons for failure to maintain the traffic lane and released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.
