CHATHAM, NJ - At 11:23 p.m. on August 18, 2019, Officer Howard Craig arrested Ricardo Balbuena, age 22, Cassandra Vanwert, age 25, and Jonathan Nunez, age 19 all from Staten Island, New York and charged them with possession of suspected marijuana. Officer Craig observed their vehicle speeding and initiated a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, he detected the odor of raw marijuana. Officer Kyle
Beasley arrived on the scene to assist Officer Craig.
Following an investigation, Ricardo Balbuena admitted to possessing a small amount of marijuana and was arrested. A K-9 Officer from the Morris County Sheriff’s Office responded and conducted an exterior search of the vehicle. Subsequently, Mr. Nunez and Ms. Vanwert were arrested as well. All three were transported to Police Headquarters for processing. All were issued complaint summonses for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and released pending a court appearance.
At 10:19 am on August 22, 2019, Officer Agnes Cisek arrested Sekou Camara, age 48 from Jersey City, New Jersey on an active contempt of court warrant issued by the Municipality of Waldwick. Officer Cisek conducted a random license plate check on the vehicle driven by Mr. Camara and discovered the warrant. In addition, the check also revealed that his driver’s license was suspended. A traffic stop was initiated and Mr. Camara was taken into custody. He was transported to Police
Headquarters for processing. The Waldwick Municipal Court was contacted and released Mr. Camara on his own recognizance pending a court appearance. Before his release, Mr. Camara was issued a traffic citation for driving while suspended.
