Geovanny Buitron initiated a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at 27th Street and arrested the operator, Jerry Norman, age 35 of Paterson, after marijuana was found on his person. Arrest warrants were located out of Passaic County (no bail) & Paterson ($750). He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, tinted windows & operating with a suspended license, then handed over to Passaic County Sheriff׳s Department.

03/06/2020 8:46 am Wanted Person: Sgt. Brian Metzler initiated a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at Midland Avenue during a Motor Vehicle Safety Checkpoint and arrested George Sudu, age 49 of Teaneck, after an arrest warrant was located out of Darien, CT. He was charged with failure to inspect, tinted windows & operating with a suspended license, then sent to Bergen County Jail to await extradition.

03/07/2020 2:33 am Driving While Intoxicated: P.O. Brad Pindyck initiated a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at Fair Lawn Parkway and arrested the operator, Adan Huerta-Martinez, age 49 of Belcamp, MD, after he failed a roadside sobriety test. He was released to a responsible adult after being charged with delaying traffic, reckless driving & driving while intoxicated.

03/08/2020 3:34 am Theft: P.O. Brad Pindyck, P.O. Michael Van Ness, P.O. Mark Roskowsky & P.O. Geovanny Buitron responded to the area of Krauszers, 16-15 River Road, on a report of a theft and arrested Emmanuel Bernard, age 30 of Paterson, after he was located on River Road at Campbell Road with a bag of clothing taken from a clothing recycling bin. He was released after being charged with theft of movable property.

03/10/2020 Fraud: On 2/18/2020, a Fair Lawn resident responded to police headquarters to report that a personal check that he had mailed at the mailbox located on Banta Place near Morlot Avenue had not been received where it was sent and that the check was deposited into someone else׳s account. 

Det. Paul Donohue took over the investigation and arrested Dhey Alcantara, age 21 of Paterson. He was released after being charged with receiving stolen property, identity theft & theft by deception.

03/12/2020 2:14 pm Wanted Person: P.O. Tiller Uriarte initiated a motor vehicle stop on Broadway at Tunbridge Road and arrested the operator, Brandon Lanski, age 23 of Fair Lawn, after arrest warrants were located out of Fair Lawn ($1000) & Wall Township ($750). He was charged with maintenance of lamps & operating with a suspended license, then released after bail was posted.

03/13/2020 5:20 pm Shoplifting: Det. Brian Rypkema approached a suspicious female inside of Walgreens, 17- 77 River Road, and arrested Rhonda Sipes, age 41 of Paterson, after she was found attempting to leave the store with $62.06 in unpaid items in a bag. She was released after being charged with shoplifting & possession of drug paraphernalia.

03/13/2020 11:37 am Driving While Intoxicated: P.O. Anthony Burgos & P.O. Luis Vasquez responded to Fair Lawn Avenue at River Road on a report of a motor vehicle crash and arrested William Bateson, age 37 of Butler, after it appeared that he was intoxicated. He was transported to St. Joseph׳s Medical Center in Paterson for treatment and was released to a responsible adult from there after being charged with 2 counts of assault by auto, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, reckless driving, careless driving, improper display of license plates & driving while intoxicated.

03/14/2020 5:14 am Driving While Intoxicated: P.O. Anthony Ferreira, P.O. Brad Pindyck & Det/Sgt. Nicholas Snyder responded to Broadway at 26th Street on a report of a motor vehicle crash and arrested Gralen Moore Jr, age 31 of Paterson, after he failed a roadside sobriety test. During a search, 2 stun guns, an open bottle of tequila & marijuana were discovered. Moore was released to a responsible adult after being charged with 3 counts of assault by auto, 2 counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to observe a traffic signal, failure to maintain a single lane, careless driving, driving while intoxicated, failure to submit to a breath test, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle & possession of an open alcoholic container in a motor vehicle.

03/15/2020 1:04 am Narcotics: P.O. He was released after being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, tinted windows & operating with a suspended license.
