During the period between May 27 and June 2, 2019 members of the GRPD handled 378 calls for service, the highlights of which included:
05-29-2019 - 04:10 AM – A burglary was discovered at the Dunkin Donuts on the 800 block of Prospect Street. Entry had been forced via the rear door to the business, a safe was removed from the rear office and cash drawers under the store counter were pried open. The scene was processed by crime scene detectives from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Department Bureau of Criminal Identification. The matter is currently under investigation by the GRPD Detective Bureau.
05-30-2019 - 4:46 PM – While on foot patrol in the Central Business District Special Officer Mike Friedman located a semi-conscious man lying on a bench. The subject, a 59-year-old Glen Rock man, was incoherent and could not respond to the officer. With the assistance of P.O. Matt Stanislao and EMT’s from the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps, the man was transported to New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus for treatment relating to the misuse of prescription medications.
05-31-2019 - 2:07 PM – A Glen Rock woman reported that she had applied for a business loan with two different brokerage firms, providing one of them with the username and password to her bank account. Subsequently both of these lenders reportedly deposited funds in her account which exceeded the amount of her loan. When she attempted to return the excess funds, she was notified by her bank that a fraudulent transaction had occurred. The victim reported she was defrauded of $5,400 as a result of one of these transactions. The detective bureau is currently reviewing this matter.
06-01-2019 - 2:51 PM – While assisting a “Click-it or Ticket” Enforcement Detail on De Boer Drive, Sgt. Bryan Scott arrested a 19-year-old Fair Lawn man for possession of marijuana under 50 grams. He was transported to Police HQ where he was processed and released on his own recognizance pending an appearance in Glen Rock Municipal Court. He was also issued traffic summonses for failure to wear a seatbelt and operation of a motor vehicle while in possession of Marijuana.
06-01-2019 - 2:55 PM – A 64-year-old Hackensack man was detained by the Elmwood Park Police Department on an active warrant issued by the Glen Rock Municipal Court. Unable to post $2,704 in bail, the man was taken into custody by Lt. Chris Mc Inerney and P.O. T.J. Graziani and transported to the Bergen County Jail.
06-02-2019 - 10:24 PM – Patrols were dispatched to investigate a large group of juveniles gathered at and around a home on Radburn Road. Numerous juveniles fled the area as officers arrived, a juvenile who resides at the home in question was located. Officers were able to contact a parent who returned to the home where the juvenile had been left unsupervised. The matter has been referred to the juvenile officer for a follow-up.
