On 7/24/19 Ptl. Travis Dilts took a report of theft from a business after the fact.  The owner reported property that was in inventory was discovered missing after an attempt to locate it to show a potential customer.  The timeframe of the theft was 7/22/19-7/24/19.

On 7/27/19 at 01:28 hours Ptl. Sean Kaverick arrested Jamie Tansky, 33, of Winfield for an outstanding traffic warrant after a motor vehicle stop on S. 21st Street.   Tansky was issued motor vehicle summonses and later released from police custody after satisfying the conditions of the warrant.

Officer: Sgt. Chris Bryson

On 7/28/19 at 23:49 hours Sgt. Chris Bryson arrested Jean Meus, 42, of Newark for multiple outstanding criminal and traffic warrants during a motor vehicle stop on Market Street.  During the stop further investigation into Meus revealed the outstanding warrants.  Meus was transported to police headquarters and later released to the custody of the North Brunswick Police Department after receiving summonses.

On 7/30/19 Ptl. Ryan Kernan arrested Tyrelle Walker, 22, of Kenilworth after a motor vehicle stop revealed an outstanding traffic warrant out of Stafford Township.  Walker was issued summonses and transported to police headquarters where he was released with a new court date

On 7/30/19 Ptl. Ray Fuschino arrested Carlos Vidreiro, 23, of after responding to the area of Sheridan Avenue and N. 18th Street for a request for service.  Upon arrival, Ptl. Fuschino located Vidreiro in his parked vehicle and a further investigation and vehicle search revealed a loaded pellet gun and drug paraphernalia.  Vidreiro was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a hypodermic needle.  He was later lodged in the Union County Jail awaiting a court appearance.

Crime/Offense: Motor Vehicle Pursuit

On 8/01/19 Ptl. Anthony Tancs attempted to stop a vehicle for motor vehicle violations in the area of Galloping Hill Road. After activating his lights and audible siren the vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed towards the Garden State Parkway and a pursuit ensued.  The plate check confirmed that the vehicle was stolen out of Elizabeth and the pursuit was terminated near the Union Toll Plaza heading north.  The vehicle was described as a red Toyota SUV.

Crime: CDS Possession

Officer: Ptl. Anthony Tancs

On 8/2/19 Ptl. Anthony Tancs arrested Wendell Gibbs, 56, of Newark for possession of CDS and Drug Paraphernalia after a motor vehicle stop on N. 22nd Street.  During the stop, an investigation by Ptl. Tancs discovered a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, heroin and a smoking pipe resulting from a vehicle search.  Gibbs was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing where he was issued criminal and traffic summonses.  He was later released and provided with a first appearance date in the Union County Superior Court.

On 8/6/19 a resident entered police headquarters to report a burglary and theft after the fact of power tools from a construction trailer.  The victim who rents space on N. 8th Street to store the trailer reported that sometime within the last several days the trailer was unlawfully entered and equipment was stolen.  Detectives are investigating.

On 8/7/19 Ptl. Filipe responded to the Kenilworth Inn to take a report of theft after the fact.  The victim reported that their vehicle which was parked in the lot was placed up on blocks and the rims and tires were missing.  This occurred sometime during the overnight hours between 8/6/19 and 8/7/19.

On 8/7/19 a resident from N. 19th Street entered headquarters to report an Amazon package theft from their residence.  The resident stated the package was removed by an unknown person after confirming with Amazon that the package was delivered.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Detective Bureau.

On 8/9/19 Ptl. Anthony Tancs arrested Geraldo Hogan, 25, of Plainfield for an outstanding traffic warrant during a motor vehicle stop on the Kenilworth Boulevard.  Hogan was transported to police headquarters where he was issued summonses and turned over to the Piscataway Police Department.

On 8/10/19 Ptl. Anthony Tancs arrested Manuel Soto, 36, of Elizabeth for an outstanding traffic warrant out of Elizabeth.  Soto was transported to police headquarters where he was issued summonses and turned over to the Elizabeth Police Department.

Crime: Theft of Services

On 8/10/19 the attendant from the Shell Gas Station on the Kenilworth Boulevard reported that a gray Audi occupied by 2 males stole $60 worth of gasoline.  The attendant provided a temporary registration tag which came back to a stolen Audi out of Hillsdale.  The vehicle fled on the Garden State Parkway Southbound and was not located.

Crime/Offense: Driving While Intoxicated

Officer: Sgt. Len Lueddeke

On 8/12/19 at 21:58 hours a 9-1-1 caller reported an aggressive driver entering town.  After providing a license plate and vehicle description, patrol units were dispatched to the area.  The vehicle was located and stopped at the intersection of Boulevard and Market Street.  After a field investigation, Sgt. Lueddeke arrested Joseph Dedomenico, 26, of New York for DWI.  Dedomenico was transported to police headquarters where he was issued summonses and later released with a municipal court date.

On 8/15/19 a victim on N. 20th Street reported that an unknown person caused damage to their vehicle during the overnight hours.  Ptl. Scuorzo responded to take the report and confirmed that the vehicle was keyed and forwarded the investigation to detectives.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Detective Bureau at 908-276-1700.

On 8/16/19 a business owner on the Kenilworth Boulevard reported to police that the front door of the business had been damaged during the overnight hours by an unknown person.  Ptl. Dilts responded to speak with the victim and confirmed the damage.  Detectives are further investigating.

On 8/16/19 Ptl. Tancs arrested Raphael Alvarado, 24, of Elizabeth for an outstanding traffic warrant during a motor vehicle stop on Galloping Hill Road.  After a records check confirmed the warrant, Alvarado was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing.  He was later released after satisfying the conditions of the warrant and issued a court date in municipal court.

Crime/Offense: MV Burglary/Theft

On 8/19/19 several vehicles were reported burglarized on Oakwood Avenue near the Roselle Park Border.  No proceeds were reported missing and all vehicles were reported to be unlocked.  It should be noted that the same night Roselle Park arrested 4 individuals a short distance away for similar acts in their borough.  Detectives are still investigating and anyone with information is asked contact the Detective Bureau at 908-276-1700.

Crime/Offense: Aggravated Assault

Officer: Dsgt. Michael Scanielo

On 8/24/19 at 02:51hrs police units investigated a report of an assault that took place near a business near Boulevard & Market St.  Detective Sgt. Scanielo arrested and charged Merrill Hyman of Linden with Aggravated Assault and Criminal Mischief.  He was transported to Union County Jail while he awaits a detention hearing.
