Patrol units were dispatched to the 700 Block of Kingston Ave. on the report of a motor vehicle accident.  The driver, Jose Cuevas, 28 of Union, was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest for DWI by Sgt. Len Lueddeke.  The passenger, Ansly Orphelin 18 of Hilliside, fled the scene and was located by Kenilworth Police a few blocks away. He was found to be in Possession of CDS (marijuana) and arrested by Ptl. Anthony Tancs.  Both males were charged accordingly and later released with a municipal court date.

Ptl. Robert Rueger arrested Rashad Jones, 42 of Kenilworth, after a motor vehicle stop on Galloping Hill Road revealed Jones to have an outstanding no bail warrant out of Somerset County.  Jones was arrested and turned over to Somerset County Sheriff’s Department.

             Patrol units were dispatched to South Michigan Ave. on the report of a disorderly male. At                       the scene Elvin Nunez, 54 of New York, was arrested by Ptl. Sandull for an outstanding no                     bail warrant out of Atlantic County, NJ.He was arrested and later turned over to the Atlantic                     County Sheriff’s Department.He was also charged with a borough ordinance for Violation of                   the Public Peace and given a municipal court date.

Ptl. Filipe responded to the 500 block of Passaic Ave. on the report of a motor vehicle theft.  It was discovered the vehicle was stolen sometime shortly after midnight. Kenilworth Police Detectives located and recovered the vehicle relatively undamaged on 2/26/20 in Newark, NJ.  The vehicle was returned to the owner.

             Ptl. Tancs conducted a motor vehicle stop on the Garden State Parkway South Bound ramp                   after the officer observed a motor vehicle infraction and it then abruptly exited the ACME                         parking lot after noticing Kenilworth Police units.The driver, James Schneider 41 of Bellaplain,               NJ, was arrested after being found to be in possession of a quantity of heroin and crack cocaine as well as drug paraphernalia.He was arrested and charged accordingly.He was later released with a summons and scheduled appearance in Union County Superior Court date

 Sgt. Lueddeke and Ptl. Devlin responded to North 12th Street on the report of a dispute.There,               they arrested Luke Aranibar, 20 of Jersey City, for Possession of a Controlled Dangerous           Substance (marijuana.) He was arrested and charged accordingly. He was later released with a municipal court date.
