Thefts
March 10, 2020 (Fairfield Street): Two complainants report that their backpacks were stolen
from a basement storage room at Watchung Booksellers.
March 15, 2020 (Glenridge Avenue): The complainant reported that a rock had been thrown
through the window of her motor vehicle, with a makeup bag and approximately $2 in change
taken from the vehicle.
March 16, 2020 (North Fullerton Avenue): The complainant reports that a package containing a
jacket, valued at approximately $100, was rummaged through and the jacket stolen.
Burglary
March 11, 2020 (Maple Avenue): The complainant reports that a television and a laptop
computer were stolen from his garage.
March 12, 2020 (Tuers Place): The complainant reports that approximately $7,000 in appliances
were stolen from the property.
Vandalism
March 11, 2020 (Pine Street): Graffiti, most of it illegible, was found on the side of a building.
March 11, 2020 (Glenridge Avenue): At 11:50 AM, two juveniles were observed vandalizing an
abandoned church, specifically by kicking a window pane. The first juvenile is described as a

white female, approximately 14 years old, with pink hair, glasses, and last seen wearing dark-
colored clothing. The second juvenile is described as a white female, approximately 12 years old,

shoulder-length brown hair, last seen wearing black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt.
March 16, 2020 (Forest Street): The complainant reports that his vehicle was scratched.
Suspicious Incident
March 11, 2020 (Valley Road/ Jerome Place): A juvenile male reports that he was walking at
approximately 5:00 PM when a person in a blue SUV or minivan approached him, stopped and
beeped its horn three or four times. The juvenile fled when the driver, described as an older
white male, possibly with a beard, exited the vehicle.
Bias
March 13, 2020 (Church Street): A thirty-five year old Caucasian Newark resident reports that
he was assaulted by five individuals at approximately 9:30 PM, who first questioned why he was

in the area. The group became confrontational and assaulted him while calling him racial slurs
before last being seen running south on Trinity Place. The first suspect is described as a husky
African American juvenile female last seen wearing a pink-colored outfit. The second suspect is
described as a skinny African American juvenile male last seen wearing a polka dotted
sweatshirt. The third suspect is described as an African American juvenile male, medium build,
with brown and black braids. The fourth suspect is described as a tall African American adult
male, cropped haircut and last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The fifth suspect is
described only as a tall African American adult male. The victim denied medical attention on
scene.
Arrests
March 10, 2020 (Rosedale Avenue): Vincent Fearon, 37, of Montclair, was taken into custody
after police learned that he had a warrant for his arrest.
March 11, 2020 (Lexington Avenue): Timothy Hanks, 18, of Montclair, was charged with
criminal attempt (burglary) after he was found after attempting to enter an apartment shortly after
midnight. Another suspect fled the area and has yet to be located. The second suspect is
described as a tall, African-American male, last seen wearing dark colored clothing and a ski
mask.

March 14, 2020 (Chestnut Street): Elisa Bowens, 34, of Verona, was charged with driving while
intoxicated.
March 15, 2020 (Gardiner Place): Corey Field, 42, of Montclair, was charged with driving while
intoxicated.
March 16, 2020 (Greenwood Avenue): Jeffrey John, 21, of West Orange, was charged with
driving while intoxicated.
