MONTCLAIR, NJ - The following blotter was compiled by the Montclair Police Department on 9-24-19:
September 17, 2019 (Windemere Road): The complainant, a sixty-eight year old
Bloomfield resident, states that she was parked in the driveway of a residence on
Windemere Road when she observed a vehicle park in front of the driveway. An
unidentified male, apparently lost, approached her vehicle asking if he was in
Montclair, and asking her for directions out of town. After the complainant replied
to him, the male punched her in the face through the open car window and reached
in to pull the keys from the ignition of the vehicle that the complainant was
occupying. The complainant, who suffered facial injuries, reported that several
keys detached from the key ring and were stolen by the suspect, but the ignition
keys remained in the ignition.
The suspect then ran back to his vehicle and fled. The suspect is described as
a black male, approximately thirty years old, 5’10” and 160 lbs. He was last seen
wearing a blue-colored hooded sweatshirt and operating tan-colored sedan,
possibly a Toyota Camry. Anyone with further information is asked to contact

September 22, 2019 (New Street): The complainant, a resident in a multiunit
house, states that at approximately 10:00 PM, he was in his living room when he
heard a noise coming from a window that leads to the front porch. Upon
investigating the source of the noise, he observed four black males on his porch,
with one attempting to open the window. The males immediately fled once they
saw the complainant.
The suspects are described as 18-20 years old, with two wearing black shirts,
one wearing a white shirt, and one wearing a blue shirt. All were wearing gloves.
September 18, 2019 (Park Street): The complainant reports that a package
delivered to her residence, containing nearly $400 in merchandise, was stolen from
outside her residence. The suspect is described as a black male last seen wearing a
brown jacket with reflective stripes, brown pants, a white wide-brimmed hat and
September 19, 2019 (North Willow Street): The complainant states that he secured
his bicycle, a Trek 7200 with a red frame, black handle bars, and valued at $600,
behind Tacoria at 11:00 AM with a lock and chain. At 5:00 PM, he returned and
discovered that the bicycle and lock were missing.
September 20, 2019 (Watchung Train Station): The complainant reports that he left
his bicycle chained to a rack at approximately 7:30 AM on the 20th. When he
returned at 5:30 PM on that date, the bicycle and chain were missing. The bicycle
is described as a Giant Escape 3 men’s adult mountain bike with a gray frame and
orange markings, valued at $400.
September 22, 2019 (Midland Avenue): Joseph Mulford Jr., 50, of Montclair, was
charged with driving while intoxicated.
