A resident of New Providence and a resident of Long Hill Township were arrested for the distribution of a controlled dangerous substance as a result of a narcotics investigation. The arrest stems from an investigation by the New Providence Police Department’s Detective Bureau.

On Thursday, June 18, 2020, Investigators executed a search warrant on a residence in New Providence and two separate motor vehicles. Officers recovered 2 weapons, cash, various amounts of marijuana and THC oil and materials commonly used for the packaging and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.

Kyaire Lee-Rumlin, 20 of New Providence was charged with 4 counts of a 3rd degree crime involving possession and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, 2 counts of a 4th degree possession and distribution of drug paraphernalia, 2 counts of a 4th degree unlawful possession of a weapon and a disorderly person offense for possession of drug paraphernalia.

John Currie, 21 of Long Hill Township was charged with 2 counts of a 4th degree distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, a disorderly person offense for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and a disorderly person offense for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both adults have a pending court appearance in Union County Superior Court. These charges are mere accusations. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
