Lewdness/Harassment – A report was received regarding a juvenile that received a lewd picture from an unknown telephone number.  The text message came over as a single photo (no text) from a telephone number the juvenile did not recognize.  Detective Bureau is investigating.

Motor Vehicle Stop – Hillside Avenue – A motor vehicle stop resulted in the arrest of Kevin Oliveira, 24, of Nutley.  He was charged with Possession of Marijuana, which was placed on summons, and mailed through the Nutley Municipal Court.  The suspected marijuana was entered into evidence.

Fraud – A victim reported two charges made to their credit union account were fraudulent.  The charges were made to “ADJ Force” in the amounts of $33.47 and $476.52.  The bank was contacted and they canceled the debit card and issued a new one. 

Fraud – Headquarters received a report of fraud regarding an online purchase that as made by the victim worth $99.98 and receiving an envelope containing shiny star stickers.  The items were not what was ordered and the envelope had no tracking information from the seller, which lead the victim to believed they were scammed. 

Theft – Franklin Avenue – Officers responded to the area in regards to a past occurred theft.  The gas attendant stated that a car pulled into their station and asked for $20.00 cash of gas.  The male driver asked the female occupant for $20.00, and then drove off without paying. 

Fraud – the victim contacted Headquarters in regards to fraudulent transactions found to their debit account.  Five (5) fraudulent transactions There is no information as to a possible suspect or location of the transactions.  The financial institution was contacted, a stop was placed on the transactions, along with the account, and a new debit card issued. 

Burglary – Park Avenue – Officers responded to the area in regards to a past occurred burglary.  The victim stated that while sitting in their backyard they were approached by a Hispanic, light-skinned female, about 5’4” tall and approximately 140lbs, wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans and a Hispanic male in his early 30’s with a mustache and thin build.  The female began speaking to the victim and said they used to live across the street many years ago and the male was her brother.  The girl asked for a drink of water and the victim invited her inside and gave her a glass of water. When the victim went upstairs they found that the male party had gone through their belongings.  Missing was assorted jewelry, and cash.  The Detective Bureau was contacted and responded to the scene to take command of the investigation.  

Fraud – A resident reported to Headquarters that they were notified by their bank that an unknown person/s withdrew money from their accounts.  Total transactions – three (3) – and $2,500.00 withdrawn. The method of the transactions is not known and the accounts have been closed

Obstruction - Stager Street -  Police received several reports of a white male party, wearing shorts and a hoodie, running through the streets banging on windows, possibly breaking them, and causing a disturbance.  Multiple units responded and found a party matching the description and attempted to speak to them regarding the criminal mischief, when they fled on foot. A pursuit took place and the party, Ilya Udalov, 19, of Nutley, was taken into custody.  He was charged with Resisting Arrest (Flight), and Obstruction of the Administration of Law, which would be placed on summonses and mailed by the Nutley Municipal Court.

Criminal Mischief – Stager Street – Response was made to the area in regards to a door that was found damaged on a local business.  The door had a large glass section with a metal frame and the glass section appeared to be severely cracked.  Photographs were taken on scene and the business owner contacted.  An estimate of the damage was not available at the time of the report. 

Tree Limb Down – Whitford Avenue – Officers responded to the area in reference to a report of a tree down.  The homeowner stated that the top portion of a tree was down and caused damage to a portion of the fence, a sitting bench, and small grill in the yard.  The damage is estimated to be approximately $550 -$650.

Identity Theft – Headquarters received a report regarding identity theft.  The victim stated that they were advised that someone attempted to withdraw $400 from their account using their bank debit card at an ATM four (4) times.  The bank did not allow the withdrawal. 

Property Damage – St. Mary’s Place – Response was made for a report of possible theft from vehicle.  The victim stated someone broke the driver’s side window of their vehicle.  Officers observed the broken window, but upon further investigating, the interior of the vehicle was found intact. The vehicle was not in disarray and still contained valuable property.  The estimate to repair the window is approximately $200.00.

Vehicle Theft – Joerg Avenue – Officers responded to the area in regards to a motor vehicle theft.  The victim stated they parked their vehicle last evening and when they returned to it this morning, it was gone.  The victim believed they left a key fob inside the unlocked vehicle.    *****The vehicle was later recovered in Newark*****
