RARITAN, NJ - A Plainfield man was arrested for disorderly conduct after officers observed several people preparing to fight in front of Enmanuel's Barbershop, on West Somerset Street, June 24, according to a report from Raritan Borough Police.

According to the report, Officer Benjamin Griffin was on patrol at 12:55 a.m. when he saw several individuals preparing to fight. A victim in front of the shop, police said, told the officer that a man, identified as Emmanuel Wright, 27, attempted to remove a chain necklace from around his neck.

When Griffin attempted to speak to Wright, the report said, he refused to give any identifying information.

Wright was arrested for hindering apprehension and disorderly conduct.

Police made other arrests for drugs and other charges at the end of June.

  • Burtlan Edgar, 20, of Raritan, was charged June 20 at 7:14 p.m. with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and underage possession of alcohol following a motor vehicle stop on Route 206. Officer Jacob Sniscak investigated the incident.
  • Michael Ormosi, 32, of Franklin, was arrested for driving while intoxicated June 21 at 1:35 a.m. following a motor vehicle stop on West End Avenue. Officer Evan Vacchiano investigated the incident.
  • Darnell Thigpen, 23, of Bridgewater, was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance June 25 at 9:05 a.m. following a motor vehicle stop on Railroad Avenue. Griffin investigated the incident.
  • Khaliq Harris, 23, of Plainfield, was charged June 25 at 2:54 p.m. with hindering apprehension following a motor vehicle stop on Orlando Drive. According to a report, Harris provided officers with a false name because he had a suspended driver's license. A passenger in the car, Tyejean Tucker, 41, of Plainfield, was also arrested after it was found that he had multiple warrants for his arrest from Edison and Plainfield. Griffin investigated the incident.
  • John Sibiga, 18, of Raritan, was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance June 28 at 12:06 p.m. following a motor vehicle stop on East Somerset Street. Sniscak investigated the incident.
  • Ever Mendoza, 47, of Maryland, was arrested June 30 at 8:17 a.m. for hindering apprehension after a motor vehicle stop on Route 206. According to the report, Mendoza gave a false name because he did not have a driver's license. Griffin investigated the incident.
