On 9/23/20 at 11:02 pm, Corporal Brian Swick, Officer Jessica Diaz and Officer Anthony Mastrocola, responded to the 400 block of Ragland Drive on a motor vehicle burglary.

Through an investigation, it was determined that Ronald Perry 47, of Elizabeth, N.J. was found to be in possession of burglar tools. He was taken into custody on the 800 block of Chestnut St.

A follow up investigation conducted by Detective Gregory Polakoski, concluded that Perry was responsible for the motor vehicle burglary, as well as attempting to enter three other unlocked vehicles in the area of Ragland Drive.

Perry was processed on the following criminal charges, possession of burglar tools, burglary, and three counts of criminal attempted burglary. 

Perry was released on a summons with a future Union County Superior Court date.

On 9/29/20 at 3:36 pm, Sergeant John Deegan, Patrolman Joshua Valente and Patrolman William Hannon, responded to the 100 block of Chestnut St. for a reported shoplifting that just occurred. It was reported that two individuals were involved and running on foot in the area after fleeing from a store manager.

County Dispatch relayed a description of the two individuals to units in the area. Patrolman William Hannon, then discovered the two individuals hiding behind a home on Charles Street.

Through an investigation it was determined that Wilsey Cherisme 41, of Newark, N.J. and Lakiesha Herrill 49, of Newark, were involved in the shoplifting. Both parties were taken into custody. While being taken into custody, it was also discovered that Herrill was in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin).

Wilsey Cherisme was charged with shoplifting. Cherisme was released pending a future Roselle Park Court date.

Lakiesha Herill was charged with the following criminal charges, shoplifting, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance (heroin). Herill was released pending a future Union County Superior Court date.
