BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater Police made several arrests for thefts of under $100 worth of merchandise from various stores around town in mid April, according to a recent report.

Anthony O. Baratto, 50, of Basking Ridge, was charged April 19 at 3:02 p.m. with shoplifting after being found with $80.35 worth of store merchandise from Target, on Promenade Boulevard. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.

Shaquera S. Roane, 28, of Plainfield, was charged with shoplifting at DSW, on Commons Way, April 19 at 4:52 p.m. after she was found with a handbag worth $24.99. She left before being arrested, police said, and there is an active warrant out for her arrest.

Jadiah A. Brooks, 18, of Franklin Park, was arrested for shoplifting April 18 at 8:18 p.m. after he was found with $77 worth of clothing from Macy's, in the Bridgewater Commons Mall. He was processed and released pending a court appearance.

Police made other arrests for driving while intoxicated.

  • Martha R. Ledet, 57, of Flemington, was charged with driving while intoxicated April 12 at 10:56 a.m. after being stopped for motor vehicle violations on Route 22 East. She was charged with DWI, refusal to submit to an alcotest and failure to maintain a lane. She was processed and released pending a court appearance.
  • Tejash Patel, 35, of Piscataway, was charged with driving while intoxicated April 13 at 11:04 p.m. after being stopped for motor vehicle violations on Route 22 East. Patel was charged with DWI, refusal to submit to an alcotest, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane and having an unclear rear plate. Patel was processed and released pending a court appearance.
  • Marquise L. Foster, 33, of Somerville, was charged with driving while intoxicated April 13 at 4:13 a.m. after being stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Finderne Avenue. He was charged with DWI, reckless driving, obstructing safe passage, tinted windows and failure to change address on a driver's license. He was processed and release pending a court appearance.
