Shoplifting: On April 26th at approximately 1:40 pm Morgan’s Liquors on Irvington Avenue reported someone entered their store and stole a bottle of Vodka. Suspect fled east on Irvington Avenue. The description of the suspect is an African American male, late teens, wearing black sweat pants, black hooded sweat shirt with a light blue backpack. A South Orange Police Officer observed the suspect on Ward Place and gave chase however he lost the suspect on College Place. Burgalry to Auto: A Fielding Court resident reports someone entered their vehicle, which was parked in their driveway, during the overnight hours on April 28- April 29. The inside of the vehicle was ransacked but nothing was reported missing. The detective Bureau is investigating.
Arrest- Criminal mischief: On May 1st at approximately 2:45pm a caller notified South Orange Police Department that she observed a white male on a bicycle spray paint something on a silver box at the intersection of West South Orange Avenue and Ridgewood Road. The suspect then rode off towards Cameron Field. An officer observed a person matching the description and stopped him on Mead Street. After several minutes, the suspect fled from the officer on his bike but was finally located behind a residence on Vose Avenue. While at SOPD, the subject, Ian Henderson a 22-year-old Maplewood resident, confessed to spray painting in several areas of South Orange over the last month. Henderson was charged with Criminal Mischief, Obstructing, Resisting Arrest and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was released on a summons pending his Court date.
