08/22 - At 1102 hours a report was taken for a theft from a DeForest Avenue business. The manger reported a young black male, wearing a face covering, black graphic t-shirt, black pants, black sneakers and carrying a red tote bag, a tan tote bag and a black/red backpack entered the business and removed multiple items from multiple shelves in the store. The suspect then vacated the building in an unknown direction. At the time of the report, it was unknown what was taken, and a total value of the stolen items. 

08/24 - At 1125 hours a report was taken for a theft of jewelry from a residence on Chestnut Avenue. The victim reported the incident occurred between 08/15 and 08/20. Taken from the residence were one (1) pearl necklace, one (1) gold ring, one (1) gold wedding band, one (1) pair of gold earrings, and one (1) gold necklace with a locket charm containing pictures of family members. The total value of the stolen items at the time of the report was approximately $1,000.00. 

08/29 - At 0750 hours a report was taken for a theft of an unsecured motor vehicle from a Woodland Avenue residence. The victim reported the incident occurred between 2100 hours on 08/28 and 0750 hours on 08/29. Taken from the residence was a 2018 silver Nissan Maxima with the key fob inside of the vehicle. At the time of the report, the value of the car was not known.

08/29 - At 0812 hours a report was taken for a theft of an unsecured motor vehicle from the driveway of a Kings Hill Court residence. The victim reported the incident occurred between 2100 hours on 08/28 and 0400 hours on 08/29. Taken from the driveway was a 2020 white Ford Fusion with the key fob inside. Inside of the vehicle was also one (1) Roland electric drum set, and one (1) black leather men’s wallet. The value of the car at the time of the report was approximately $30,000.00, the drum set was valued at approximately $3,000.00 and the wallet was valued at approximately $20.00. 

08/29 - At 2224 hours a report was taken for a theft of an unsecured bicycle at Memorial Field. The incident occurred between 1930 hours and 2200 hours on the same date when the victim returned after playing basketball to discover the bicycle missing. Taken was a red/white Specialized men’s mountain bike, valued at approximately $600.00. 

09/01 - At 0832 hours a report was taken for a theft of an unsecured motor vehicle from an Ashland Road driveway. The victim reported the incident occurred between 0630 hours and 0830 hours on the same date. Taken from the driveway was a 2014 black Infiniti QX6 with the key fob inside of the vehicle. At the time of the report, the value of the car was not known. 

9/3 - At 1703 hours a report was taken for a theft of an unsecured bicycle from a DeForest Avenue business. The victim reported the incident occurred on 8/30, between 1300 hours and 1310 hours on the same date. The bicycle was described as a blue Haro, 21-speed, 16”-18” men’s bicycle with the letters, “XCT,” on the frame. At the time of the theft the bicycle was valued at approximately $850.00. 

09/05- At 1921 hours a report was taken for a theft of an unsecured bicycle from a Springfield Avenue business. The incident occurred between 1000 hours and 1530 hours on the same date. Taken was a silver, Kent International Mountain Bike valued at approximately $300.00. In place of the stolen bicycle, was another bicycle that was brought to police headquarters and turned over to the Detective Bureau. 

09/07 - At 0919 hours a report was taken for a theft of an unsecured motor vehicle, with the key fob inside from a Rotary Drive residence. The victim reported the incident occurred between 2300 hours on 09/06 and 0900 hours on 09/07. Taken was a black BMW 540, along with a black Italian leather jacket that was inside of the car (valued at approximately $1,300.00). The value of the vehicle was not known at the time of the report. 

09/07 - At 1356 hours a report was taken for a theft of a political sign from a Maple Street residence. The victim reported the incident occurred between 1930 hours on 09/06 and 0900 hours on 09/07. The value of the sign was approximately $5.00. 

09/08 - At 1707 hours a report was taken for a theft of groceries from an Instacart Grocery Deliver person. The incident occurred on Euclid Avenue, when the victim was approached by a black male, short to medium height questioning if the victim was, “Instacart?” The suspect then took possession of approximately $340.00 worth of groceries and placed them into a cobalt blue BMW, leaving the area. 

09/11 - At 1725 hours a report was taken for a theft of an unsecured bicycle from a DeForest Avenue business. The victim reported the incident occurred between 1700 hours and 1720 hours. Taken was a girl’s 24” Liv bicycle, blue with peach colored accents. The value of the bicycle at the time of the theft was approximately $500.00. 

09/12 - At 1723 hours a report was taken for a theft of an unsecured bicycle from a DeForest Avenue business. The victim reported the incident occurred approximately 30 minutes prior to contacting police when a blue Trek bicycle was removed from the storefront. The bicycle had a pouch under the seat, a light on the left handle bar, a water bottle on the frame and a black bicycle helmet attached to the bike. At the time of the report, the value of the bicycle was approximately $1,000.00. 

09/16 - At 1005 hours a report was taken for a burglary to two (2) unsecured motor vehicles that were parked in a Glenside Avenue driveway overnight. The victim reported the incident occurred sometime overnight between 09/15 and 09/16. At the time of the report, there wasn’t believed to have been anything of value removed from the cars. 

09/16 - At 1040 hours a report was taken for a burglary to an unsecured motor vehicle parked in a Glenside Avenue driveway. The victim reported the incident occurred in the overnight hours between 09/15 and 09/16. At the time of the report, there wasn’t believed to have been anything of value removed from the vehicle. 

09/16 - At 1145 hours a report was taken for a theft of a political sign from a Caldwell Avenue residence. The victim reported the incident occurred at approximately 1845 hours on 09/11. The sign was valued at approximately $8.00 at the time of the theft. 

09/16 - At 1654 hours a report was taken for a theft of an unsecured bicycle at a DeForest Avenue business. The victim reported the incident occurred at approximately 1640 hours. The bicycle was described as a girl’s white Trek bicycle. The bicycle was valued at approximately $700.00 at the time of the theft. 

09/17 - Daryoush Morshedian, 57, of Summit was arrested and charged with simple assault. Mr. Morshedian was processed and released with a pending court date. 

09/17 - At 1552 hours a report was taken for a theft of an unsecured bicycle from Beechwood Road. The victim reported the incident occurred approximately 10-15 minutes prior to 1552 hours. Taken was a Giant ATX 2, men’s 21-speed bicycle that was black with orange accents. The value of the bicycle at the time of the theft was approximately $475.00. 

09/20 - At 1833 hours a report was taken for a theft of an unsecured bicycle from a business on DeForest Avenue. The victim reported the incident occurred within the previous 20 minutes. Taken was a girl’s, maroon Trek Marlin 6 mountain bicycle with pink lettering and the victim’s helmet. At the time of the theft, the combined value between the two items was approximately $770.00. 

09/22 - At 1447 hours a report was taken for a theft of a political lawn sign from a Blackburn Road residence. The victim reported the incident occurred between 1700 hours on 09/17 and 2200 hours on 09/21. The value of the sign at the time of the theft was approximately $5.00. 

09/22 - At 1700 hours a report was taken for a burglary in progress at a Sherman Avenue residence. The victim reported to have witnessed a white male, approximately 30-40 years old, wearing a white shirt, and blue jeans inside of a garage. When confronted, the suspect immediately fled the area on foot, taking a white dust cover/sheet from the garage. At the time of the incident, the only item reported missing was the dust cover, valued at approximately $5.00. 

09/23 - At 0904 hours a report was taken for a burglary to an Ashwood Avenue business. The victim reported the incident occurred at approximately 0200 hours on the same date when an unknown individual gained entry to the business. The suspect was described as an older white male, wearing a Dallas Cowboys hat, blue coat with gray & black fur around the collar, dark pants and dark shoes. The suspect removed the Dallas Cowboys hat from the store, in addition to blue coat with gray/black fur, a combined value of approximately $2,040.00. 

09/23 - Rock A. LoFaro, 58, of Brooklyn, New York was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking, and burglary. Mr. LoFaro was processed and released with a pending court date. 

09/23 - At 1040 hours a report was taken for a theft of a political lawn sign from a Blackburn Road residence. The victim reported the incident occurred between 1400 hours on 09/17 and 1200 hours on 09/21. The sign was valued at approximately $5.00 at the time of the theft. 

09/24 - At 1738 hours a report was taken for a theft of an unsecured bicycle outside of a DeForest Avenue business. The victim reported the incident occurred a short time prior to calling police. Taken was a black Specialized S Work Venge, 12- speed road bicycle. The bicycle was valued at $13,500.00 at the time of the report. 

09/26 - At 1008 hours a report was taken for a theft of a political lawn sign from a Wade Drive residence. The victim reported the incident occurred between 1500 hours on 09/25 and 0800 hours on 09/26. The sign was valued at approximately $5.00 at the time of the theft. 

09/26 - At 1015 hours a report was taken for a theft of a political lawn sign from a Hartley Road residence. The victim reported the incident occurred between 2000 hours on 09/25 and 0800 hours on 09/26. The sign was valued at approximately $5.00 at the time of the theft. 

• 09/26- At 1631 hours a report was taken for a theft of political lawn signs from a Wade Drive residence. The victim reported the incident occurred during an unknown time period when the two (2) signs were taken. At the time of the report, the victim reported the combined value of the signs at $65.00. 

• 09/26- At 1806 hours a report was taken for an attempted burglary to several unsecured vehicles parked in the driveway to a Hillcrest Avenue residence. The victim(s) reported to have witnessed two (2) black males seated in the driver’s seat of two of the vehicles wearing ski masks. The victim(s) startled the suspects, who immediately fled on foot and entered a third vehicle waiting on the street. At the time of the report, the victims noted nothing of value to be missing from either vehicle. 

09/26 - At 1828 hours a report was taken for a theft of an unsecured motor vehicle with the key fob inside from a Crest Acre Court residence. The victim reported the incident occurred within the prior few hours to calling police when a 2020 gray Audi SQ5 was taken from the driveway. The victim(s) also reported that second vehicle, also unsecured, had been rummaged through but nothing of value was noted to be missing. At the time of the report, the value of the vehicle was not known. 

09/26 - Sean P. Galbally, 37, of South Orange was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Mr. Galbally was processed and released with a pending court date. 

09/27 - At 1306 hours a report was taken for a burglary to an unsecured motor vehicle parked in the driveway to a Summit Avenue residence. The victim reported the incident occurred on 09/26 between 1700 hours and 1815 hours when an unknown individual(s) entered the vehicle. Taken were an Apple iPhone 6S, one (1) brown bi-fold leather wallet containing miscellaneous credit cards, and one (1) leather change pouch containing approximately $25.00. At the time of the report, the total value of the stolen items was approximately $445.00. 

09/27 - At 1445 hours a report was taken for a burglary to an unsecured motor vehicle parked in the driveway to a Hillcrest Avenue residence. The victim reported the incident occurred between 1630 hours on 09/26 and 0930 hours on 09/27. At the time of the report nothing of value was believed to have been taken from the vehicle. 

09/28 - At 1341 hours a report was taken for a burglary to a garage at a business on Morris Avenue. The victim reported the incident occurred between 1400 hours and 1930 hours on 09/27. Taken, were one (1) Craftsman toolbox, one (1) DeWalt power tool and one (1) box of disaster relief meals. At the time of the report, the total value of stolen items was approximately $500.00. 

09/29 - Nicholas J. Della-Sala, 22, of Summit was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. Mr. Della-Sala was processed and released with a pending court date. 

09/29 - At 1354 hours a report was taken for a theft of a political lawn sign from a Karen Way residence. The victim reported the incident occurred between 09/27 and 09/28. At the time the theft, the sign was valued at approximately $5.00. 

09/30 - At 0722 hours a report was taken for a theft of an unsecured motor vehicle parked in the driveway of a Club Drive residence. The victim did not believe to have left a key fob in the vehicle, however, there may have been a valet key inside. The incident at approximately 0350 hours on the same date when an unknown male was seen entering the vehicle and backing it out of the driveway. Taken was a 2020 gray BMW 330 and was valued at approximately $40,000.00 at the time of the theft.
