01/14 - At 1128 hours a report was taken for a theft of cash from an Overlook Road apartment. The victim reported the incident occurred between 0900 hours and 1700 hours on 01/06/2020. The victim reported approximately $50.00 had been removed from the secured apartment during the above time frame. At the time of the report, there was no damage/tampering observed to the locks to the apartment. 

01/15 - At 1513 hours a report was taken for a theft of services from a Summit Avenue business. The victim reported the incident occurred on 01/14 at approximately 1830 hours when a black female operating a white Lexus RX requested the employee to fill the vehicle’s tank with gasoline. When the employee attempted to ask the suspect about needing a receipt, the suspect immediately exited the parking lot at a high rate of speed. Total value of stolen gasoline was $44.06. 

01/16 - At 1643 hours a report as taken for a theft of a laptop from a Maple Street business. The victim reported the incident occurred on 01/13 between 1500 and 1545 hours. Taken from an unsecured locker was one (1) Dell Chromebook. The total value of the item was approximately $100.00 at the time of the report.

01/16v- At 1737 hours a report was taken for a theft from a locker at a River Road business. The victim reported the incident occurred on the same date between 1400 hours and 1430 hours. Taken from a secured locker, were five (5) credit cards and approximately $40.00 in cash. The victim was notified by the credit card companies that substantial purchases were attempting to be made at a mall. The victim discovered the credit cards were missing from the wallet and immediately canceled. Total value purchase from the stolen cards at the time of the cancellation was approximately $6,820.00, in addition to $40.00 cash that was removed as well. 

01/17 - At 1605 hours a report was taken for a theft from a resident on Hillcrest Avenue. The victim reported the incident occurred 09/04/2019 when a 50% deposit had been made to a contracting company for work to be completed at the victim’s home. Since the initial payment, the contracting company has made no effort in contacting the homeowners. At the time of the report, the total amount of money provided for work that had not been completed was $3,625.00. 

01/22 - Juan C. Luna-Daniel, 39, of Freehold was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Freehold Boro. Upon completion of processing, custody of Mr. Luna-Daniel was subsequently turned over to Freehold Boro Police Department. 

01/24 - Jeffrey H. Thomas, 26, of Union was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out Florham Park. Mr. Thomas was processed and custody was subsequently turned over to Florham Park Police Department. 

01/27 - At 1020 hours a report was take for a theft from a Springfield Avenue business. The victim reported the incident occurred on 01/26/2020 between 1615 and 1700 hours. Removed from a table at the front of the business by an unknown actor(s) were twenty-four (24) pairs of pants. The total value of the stolen items at the time of the report was approximately $3,312.00. 

01/28 - At 0733 hours a report was taken for criminal mischief to a vehicle parked in the driveway of a Valemont Way residence. The victim reported the incident occurred sometime between 2200 hours on 01/27 and 0730 hours on 01/28. The vehicle had been damaged by unknown actor(s) throwing a large rock through the rear windshield. Total value of damage sustained to the vehicle was not known at the time of the report. 

 01/28 - At 1750 hours a report was taken for a theft of a motor vehicle from the driveway of a Robin Hill Road residence. The victim reported the incident occurred between 1800 hours on 01/27 and 0730 hours on 01/28. Taken from the driveway was a 2016 silver Lexus. The victim advised the vehicle had been left unsecured with the key fob inside. 

01/31 - Robert W. Kopik, 43, of Summit was arrested and charged with shoplifting from a Morris Avenue business. Mr. Kopik was processed and released with a pending court date. 

01/31 - Jon M. Kangas, 39, of Linden was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Linden. Mr. Kangas was transported to Summit Police Headquarters and processed where custody was subsequently turned over to the Linden Police Department. 

01/31 - At 0906 hours a report was taken for a burglary to a Beechwood Road business. The victim reported the incident occurred at approximately 2341 hours on 01/30 when a male party with a slender build, wearing a baseball cap and a hood pulled over the cap entered the business. The individual was observed attempting to open drawers near the cash register. At the time of the report, there was nothing of value removed from the business. Further information should be directed to the Summit Police Department Detective Bureau. 

01/31 - At 1005 hours a report was taken for a theft of shoes from an unsecured locker at a Kent Place Boulevard business. The victim reported a pair of Adidas, size 12 zebra colored Yeezys were removed from a bag that had been left unsecured in a locker room. At the time of the report, the stolen shoes were valued at approximately $300.00. 

01/31 - At 1629 hours a report was taken for a theft of cash from a wallet at a Maple Street business. The victim reported the incident occurred between 1500 and 1600 hours on this date. Approximately $45.00 in cash had been removed from an unattended, brown, slim wallet. At the time of the report, nothing else was reported missing. 

02/03 - At 1917 hours a report was taken for a theft of clothing from an unsecured locker at a Kent Place Boulevard business. The victim reported one (1) gray Under Armor backpack, one (1) black Garmin watch, one (1) custom hoody sweatshirt, one (1) Summit Junior Baseball quarter zip jacket, and one (1) Summit Junior Baseball warm up hoodie were all removed between 1700 and 1825 hours on this date. The total value of the stolen items was approximately $405.00. 

02/04 - At 2014 hours a report was taken for a theft of a cell phone from an unsecured locker room at a Maple Street business. The victim reported the incident occurred between 1515 and 1630 hours on the same date. Taken was an Apple iPhone 11, valued at approximately $1,000.00. 

02/05 - At 1248 hours a report was taken for a theft of a purse from an unsecured motor vehicle parked in the driveway to a Woodmere Drive residence. The victim reported the incident occurred at 1248 hours when a black male, wearing a shiny jacket was seen entering the unsecured vehicle. When the victim approached, the suspect took off running towards a parked, running vehicle and fled the area. Patrol checked surrounding streets, but were unable to locate the vehicle in question, or the suspect(s). Taken from the victim was one (1) black Kipling purse, one (1) black rectangular wallet containing credit cards and approximately $2,000.00 cash and one (1) black Apple iPad 2. Total value of the stolen items was approximately $2,440.00. 

02/07- Adam Benjamin Grill, 43, of Brookshire, TX was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Englewood. Mr. Grill was processed and released with a pending court date.
