Attempted Motor Vehicle Burglary

A resident of the 200 block of Clark Street reported that while their vehicle was parked in their driveway and unlocked, an unknown person entered it. The person rifled through the vehicle, but the resident reported no items were stolen. The person then exited this vehicle and attempted to enter another vehicle that was parked in the driveway. However, the person did not gain entry to the second vehicle because it was locked.

Fraud, Motor Vehicle Burglary, Theft

A resident of the 700 block of West North Avenue reported that an unknown person entered their vehicle while parked and unlocked in their driveway. The person entered the vehicle and removed the victim's wallet from the vehicle. The person then used credit card(s) belonging to the victim to make fraudulent purchases at a business in a nearby jurisdiction. One of the fraudulent purchases was approved in an amount of over $300.00.

Attempted Motor Vehicle Burglary

A resident on the 100 block of Cowperthwaite Place reports that their unlocked vehicle was entered by an unknown person while parked in their detached garage which was also unlocked. The person entered the vehicle and searched the vehicle. However, the victim reported that no items were stolen from the vehicle.

Drugs

Tayla A. Johnson, 21, of Orange, was arrested in the area South Avenue and Central Avenue for possession of marijuana and possession of prescription drugs without a prescription pursuant to a motor vehicle crash investigation. She was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters where she was processed and released on a summons.
