9/23/2020 2:56 p.m.

Resident of the 700 block of Clarence St. reports being a victim of fraud via his credit card account. The victim reports unknown actor(s) accessed his credit card account and made a fraudulent purchase in the amount of approximately $2,500. There are no suspects at this time. The victim is in contact with the financial institution that represents the credit card.

9/24/2020 07:48 a.m.

A resident of 300 block of Elm St report they were the victim of a burglary to their vehicle. The vehicle was parked and unlocked in the driveway of their residence. The actor entered the vehicle and attempted to locate a key for the vehicle or other items of value. The victim reports nothing of value was taken from the vehicle. There are no suspects at this time.

9/24/2020 07:48 a.m.

A resident of the 600 block of Prospect St reported they were the victim of a burglary to their motor vehicle as well as another motor vehicle belonging to them being stolen. The vehicle that was burglarized was entered by actor(s), but no items were reported stolen from that vehicle. The other vehicle was a 2018 Toyota Highlander valued over $35,000 and that vehicle was stolen. Both vehicles were parked in the roadway and unlocked. The stolen vehicle also had the vehicle's keys inside.

9/24/2020 7:23 a.m.

A business located within the 500 block of East Broad Street is reported to have been the victim of a theft of services. Sometime in June 2020, the business reported an increase in electrical usage in the amount of approximately $1,000.00. Further investigation into the matter revealed that an unknown actor(s) tampered with the electrical subpanel, thus causing the electricity to be directed to another location and charged to the victim's business. The value of the additional charges is unknown at this time.

9/25/2020 4:13 a.m.

A resident reported his Ring camera alerted him to a subject attempting to enter his vehicle in his driveway. The vehicle was locked and entry was not gained.

9/25/2020 3:36 a.m.

A resident reported that her Ring camera showed a subject open a gate to her backyard. The subject then attempted to gain entry to her house by sliding open a screen on a locked sliding glass door. The door and screens were locked and entry was not gained.

9/25/2020 3:38 a.m.

A resident reported that someone gained access to her unlocked vehicle but nothing was taken.

9/25/2020 10:04 a.m.

A resident reported that her surveillance camera showed a subject enter the backyard around 3 a.m. The subject then looked in windows using a flashlight and attempted to pull on the rear door of the residence. The door was locked and entry was not gained.

9/25/2020 10:16 a.m.

A resident reported that a subject gained access to her home via a faulty door lock that was not properly latched. Proceeds included $100 cash and an American Express credit card. The credit card was later found dropped outside the home.

9/26/2020 2:59 a.m.

On 09/26/2020 at approximately 0259 hours, Officers Forcenito and Jacques arrested Elijahn Holmes, age 20, of Newark NJ for 2C:35-10A(4) Possession of Marijuana Under 50 grams, pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of Dudley Ave. and Clark St. Holmes was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters where he was processed and released on a summons pending court appearance.

9/26/2020 8:02 a.m.

A resident reported that someone entered her unlocked vehicle, parked in her driveway, sometime between 9/25/2020 at 6 p.m. and 9/26/2020 at 8 a.m. The only items taken were her registration card and insurance card.

9/26/2020 10:36 a.m.

A resident reported that someone gained access to her unlocked vehicle but nothing was taken.
