This past weekend, over 1,200 people across the country tuned in for THE MAX Challenge’s first live nationwide virtual workout. The class, hosted by Bryan Klein, the Founder and CEO of the fitness franchise, was free and open to the public. Broadcast simultaneously from THE MAX Challenge’s Facebook page and on YouTube, it has since accumulated over 12,000 views across both platforms.

THE MAX Challenge of Cranford will continue to host live virtual workouts through its ongoing Friends & Family Virtual Week, which will remain free and open to all who would like to participate. Classes are offered daily via ZOOM at 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Although the class is free, registration is required once for each time slot and participants can attend any of the future virtual classes.  Can't tune in live?  A link will be sent out to access the replay. To join a virtual workout, send an email to cranford@themaxchallenge.com or phone 908-838-5331.  People of all fitness levels are welcome.  You do not need to be a MAX Challenge member to participate.

“The virtual workouts allow us the opportunity to come together as a family while practicing social distancing and support each other and allow fitness goals to continue uninterrupted,” says Mario G. Cesario, owner of THE Max Challenge of Cranford located at 777 Walnut Avenue, Cranford.

“Our live virtual classes aren’t just videos to watch and do exercises at home; the participants get to interact with one another in real time,” says instructor Samantha Gates.  We can see them, and they can see each other.  When I say give me a thumbs up, we all watch each other giving a thumbs up!  These classes have given us an opportunity to provide a small sense of normalcy.”

Jim Vittor of Clark loves the virtual workouts. “Over the past year I have lost over 50 pounds and put my cardio back in the place it was 20 years ago. When THE MAX had to temporarily close due to the virus, I was initially devastated. And then came the online classes! Amazing! I am now six days into online training and I can honestly say it has made all the difference in keeping me fit and motivated in these difficult days.”

Although Klein’s virtual workout was created with the intention of encouraging an active, healthy lifestyle among participants currently stuck at home, it also had an even deeper purpose – to inspire and uplift anyone facing overwhelming feelings of fear and uncertainty in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.  “When your kids see that you stand up in the face of adversity and continue forward, that you stick to your goals and maintain a positive mental attitude, that will rub off on them,” he said. “We’re going to remain positive and strong for our families, for our MAX community, for our country, and ultimately, for the world. We got this. We are unstoppable!”  His words energized viewers from New Jersey to Washington, many of whom proudly shouted-out their location’s names in the comment section and posted virtual high-fives, claps, and fist-bumps.

THE MAX Challenge of Cranford will be discounting existing memberships by 25% with members donating the proceeds to nonprofits that support the COVID-19 response.
