Election Policies for November 5, 2019 General Election

  1. Candidate Statements: Candidates can submit a maximum of one candidate statement per week (including photos) at no charge. Statements can be submitted from Labor Day (September 2, 2019) until Saturday, November 2, 2019 at midnight EST (for publication on Saturday, November 2 or Sunday, November 3, 2019). Publication of candidate statements is at the sole discretion of the editor of that town’s site and there is no cost to the candidate for such publication. They must be factually accurate and not defamatory. Statements will be published in the order that they are received. No statements will be published from Monday, November 4, 2019 through Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Candidate statements MUST be submitted through the site directly.
  2. Letters to the Editor: Anyone can submit Letters to the Editor at no charge at any time up until Saturday, November 2, 2019 at midnight EST (for publication on Saturday November 2 or Sunday, November 3, 2019). No letters will be published on Monday, November 4, 2019 through Tuesday, November 5, 2019.  Publication of Letters to the Editor is at the sole discretion of the editor of that town’s site and there is no cost for such publication. They must be factually accurate and not defamatory. They must not be anonymous. The letter writer must submit their phone number with their letter. The phone number will not be published – it will be used for verification purposes. Letters will be published in the order that they are received. Letters to the Editor should be submitted directly on the site.
  3. Press Releases: Campaign press releases can be submitted for consideration for publication at no charge from Labor Day (September 2, 2019) until Saturday, November 2, 2019 at midnight EST (for publication on Saturday November 2 or Sunday, November 3, 2019). No press releases will be published from Monday, November 4, 2019 through Tuesday, November 5, 2019. To guarantee publication, press releases are $50 per release per TAPinto site and must be factually accurate and not defamatory. Press releases will be published in the order in which they were received. Publication of press releases is at the sole discretion of the editor of that town’s site. Should the release not be published, payment will be refunded. Press releases MUST be submitted directly on the site for consideration for publication.
  4. Advertising: All candidates are able to purchase advertising on the site. All candidates in a town are charged the same amount for the same sized ad for the same time period. To advertise, please contact the editor for your town’s site or email marketing@tapinto.net.
