On Thursday, September 24, NAMI Sussex will host a free online webinar provided by the law firm Hinkle, Prior & Fischer on the topic of “Estate Planning and Special Needs Trusts.”  An attorney from the firm will discuss the documents necessary to ensure that a loved one with a mental health or cognitive disability can remain financially protected when parents or guardians pass away.  Done properly, a Special Needs Trust can provide for the loved one’s needs without jeopardizing his or her eligibility for crucial benefits such as SSI, SSDI and Medicaid.
