SPARTA, NJ - The Sparta Farmers Market is very pleased to be hosting an awesome teacher, Flora Schubert, who, at 10am on Saturday at the Sparta Farmers Market will help us celebrate Spring Strawberry with stories, singing, crafts and tastings. This program is appropriate for children of all ages. The cost is $5 per family.
Parents are asked to join us and stay present with what is happening during the event. Enjoy a chance for children of ages to celebrate the last weekend of spring.
Flora has a passion for sharing seasonal, nature based stories, songs, finger plays and crafts with children. Seasons are a beautiful way to anchor ourselves and connect to the world around us. Story Times that reflect the foods growing locally and the animals, plants and flowers that we may see around us help children to experience seasonal rhythm.
Flora Schubert is a homeschooling mother of two children. She taught kindergarten prior to having her own children. After deciding not to return to the classroom she has been finding ways to teach seasonal classes in various locations. She teaches at The CSG at Genesis Farm in Blairstown regularly and that is what brought forth the idea of including seasonal cooking into her events.
Watching children start to connect to the idea of eating local seasonal foods has been such an inspiration. In addition to teaching classes, Flora is a PA Homeschool Evaluator and The Community Manager for Lavender’s Blue Homeschool.
The Sparta Farmer’s Market is located at 89 Sparta Avenue in Sparta and is open from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. every Saturday through October.
