Expanded resources are now available at the Affordable Housing Alliance with funding provided by the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund

Today, New Jersey has the second-highest unemployment rate in the nation at 16.2%, forcing many families and individuals across the state to reach out for help, but thanks to a $50,000 grant from the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund (NJPRF), the Affordable Housing Alliance (AHA) will be able to provide enhanced on-site intake during the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you lost your job, had a temporary loss of income or lost access to essential services that helped you maintain your job or your housing, you could be eligible to benefit from an array of programs, services, and resources available at the AHA today!

Our newsletter delivers the local news that you can trust.

Eligible New Jersey residents could benefit from programs such as the COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program (CVERAP) offered by the NJ Department of Community Affairs (NJ-DCA); a handful of energy assistance programs tailored for low and moderate-income NJ households that need help paying for their gas and electric bills; housing counseling and financial coaching sessions led by our HUD-certified housing counselors; temporary housing provided at our shelter for adults experiencing homelessness; and many other programs, services, and resources available to assist families and individuals struggling to get through during this difficult time.

With this funding provided by the NJPRF, we're able to hire additional staff, recruit several interns to assist in every department, and purchase special equipment designed to protect clients and employees while direct help is being administered.

If you don't have internet access, don't worry! We have trained professionals ready to assist local residents who don't have internet access, or who find the application process difficult to complete.

Walk-in clients are welcome, but we encourage setting up an appointment prior to arrival so you can avoid waiting outside in the event that an AHA representative is not immediately available to assist you. Keep in mind that during the next three months, we expect to assist 1,000 clients on-site at our Neptune location!

Finally, everyone will be required to undergo a COVID-19 screening process, and to wear a mask at all times.

If you would like to set up an in-person appointment to see if you're eligible to benefit from any of our available programs and services, or if you have additional questions, please call us at (732) 389-2958.

See you soon!
