WOODLAND PARK, NJ - At the June 20 Borough Council meeting, Councilwoman Tracy Kallert and Councilman Vincent DeCesare presented checks from funds raised from fourth annual Families Behind the Badge softball tournament.

A check for $7,500 was given to the NJ State PBA Survivors Fund and $3,000 was given to the family of the late Lt. Christopher Robateau. The Jersey City Police Department lieutenant was struck and killed by a vehicle while checking on a driver who had been involved in an accident on the NJ Turnpike. Robateau  is survived by his wife Rose, and sons Michael, Christopher and Darin.

The tournament, held on May 20, pits teams of North Jersey police officers against each other, honors officers that have given their life in the line of duty and their families, and raises funds to assist those surviving families via the State PBA Survivors Fund.
