The South Plainfield Clean Communities Advisory Board and the South Plainfield Clean Business Association will sponsor a targeted public lands cleanup on Saturday, September 21.  South Clinton Avenue and side streets, including Montrose Avenue, are this year’s target.

The cleanup will run from 10 a.m. – 12 noon.   Volunteers can collect cleanup supplies at the Nature Center parking lot at 115 Sylvania Place (off South Clinton Ave) from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Volunteers should wear long pants, long sleeves, closed shoes and insect repellent.

The SP Clean Business Association is sponsoring a toiletries drive in conjunction with this cleanup, to support the South Plainfield Food Pantry.  Volunteers bringing new toiletry items will receive a small gift in exchange.

Our newsletter delivers the local news that you can trust.

Although most of the businesses in this industrial area keep their properties well, litter does accumulate.  Only one volunteer worked in this area during our Spring Cleanup, so we need to target it again this fall. If enough people come, we will be able to cover all of South Clinton Avenue and its side streets as well.

Come and help even if you can spare only a half-hour.  Every volunteer’s efforts make a difference.
