Nov. 18 — 20th Annual Turkey Trot, a benefit fall pleasure ride, rain or shine with start times between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Entries close on Nov. 11 if entering by mail or e-mail. Post entries will be accepted on the day of the event. Prizes and ribbons through eighth place will be awarded to teams in the senior division (55 years and over), junior (18 years and under), family (riders must be related to one another), or open division.

There is a long (6.5 miles) and short course (5 miles) to choose from for each division. The courses will all start and finish at the Horse Park and will travel in and around the park and the neighboring Assunpink Wildlife Management Area.

New this year, an introductory ride of 2 to 3 miles will be open to first timers or those who just want a short, easy ride.

Riders must enter as pairs and the entry fee is $45 per rider through Nov. 11. After that date or competition day the fee is $60 per rider. There is $5 discount for ESDCTA or Horse Park of New Jersey members.

All horses must have a current negative Coggins test. 

The courses will all start and finish from the Horse Park and will travel in and around the Horse Park and the Assunpink Wildlife Mgt. Area.

Dec. 1-2 —Friends of Lord Stirling Stable Annual Winter Holiday Festival. Daily festivities will include pony rides at designated times throughout the day; photos with Santa; and hay rides through the woods to visit Santa at his house (weather permitting). Lord Stirling Stable students will showcase their skills at the Holiday Horse Show. New this year, a Drill Team Competition will be held on Saturday, Dec., 1.
