The Passaic County One-Stop is a comprehensive one stop shop for many services that Passaic County residents need. The One-Stop is collocated and integrated in a way that allows for customers to get the best, most efficient experience. Everything from the County Welfare Agency, Veterans Services, the Department of Labor, the Workforce Development Board, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Unemployment Services and the Youth Department are all under the same roof.
“Everything that we do is done collaboratively as a team,” said Passaic County One-Stop Director Lauren Murphy. “We do this to provide the most efficient, seamless experience for our clients as they embark on their career journey.”
Within the confines of the One-Stop, customers are able to be directed to different departments that can assist them based on their needs. Because all the departments work together cohesively, customers are able to receive a flawless experience from start to finish.
An example of this integrated team work is the recent response to the Marcal factory tragedy. The One-Stop worked with the Department of Labor, the City of Paterson and Marcal CEO Rob Barron in order to quickly respond to the needs of the Marcal employees as quickly as possible. The Department of Labor put together the hiring event that gave Marcal employees the opportunity to meet with potential employers. Employers were eager to meet with the skilled Marcal employees, and the Marcal employees were just as eager to find new careers. None of this would have been possible without the teamwork of all of the different partners.
The One-Stop also works with outside agencies in order to service the youth in the local communities so that they too can find jobs and get valuable training and education. The Youth Department at the One-Stop works with customers between the ages of 16-24, helping them with education, training, mentoring, and decision making. Education opportunities include help obtaining a high school or high school equivalence degree, thereby allowing them to increase their employability.
Together with our partners, we are able to deliver a superior experience for our customers at no cost to qualifying clients. Whether it is training, schooling or career advancement, The Passaic County One-Stop is here to serve the community.
The Passaic County Workforce Development Center provides training for unemployed, unskilled, and displaced individuals so they can effectively operate in the workplace. The One-Stop is conveniently located in Paterson New Jersey, at 200 Memorial Drive.
