Come join us Monday, July 23 at 6:30 PM for Monday Night Movies. This week’s selection stars Donald Sutherland and Helen Mirren, and it follows their characters as they journey across the country in a RV, rekindling their passion for life and their romance. It is rated R. If you cannot make it to the Monday night showing, there is a second screening on Wednesday, July 25 at 12:30 PM.
Join us for some Holi-inspired family fun this weekend. On Saturday, July 21 from 11 AM - 1 PM, there will be a Color Celebration at the South Plainfield Public Library with crafts, dancing, and COLORS. We will move part of the event outdoors so we can celebrate the traditional way- with a small amount of dry powdered color and water. Please dress appropriately; a plain white t-shirt is recommended. Other suggestions include bringing a towel or sheet to place in your car so the colors do not make a mess in your car and putting coconut oil or baby oil on your skin and hair to make it easier to wash out the colors. Playing outside with the color and water is an optional part of this event. All ages are welcome.
On Tuesday, July 24 at 3 PM, join Ms. Jackie for the Easy Reader Book Club. This program is for newly minted readers ages 6 to 8. The titles chosen for this meeting are all by Jonathan Fenske: We Need More Nuts!, Please No More Nuts!, and Love is in the Air. Copies of the books are available at the Adult Reference Desk, but keep in mind that Ms. Jackie will be reading these books together with the children.
Are you ready to dance? On Wednesday, July 25 at 6:30 PM at the Senior Center, DJ Dave will be on hand to provide an interactive evening of movement and music! Learn classics like the Limbo, the Cha-Cha, the Macarena, and the Hokey Pokey. Join in the fun of hula hoop hot potato, musical squares, and more! This is fun for the whole family. Please consider bringing a non-perishable food item or personal hygiene item to donate to our local food pantry. No registration is required for this event.
Instead of our regular storytime at 1:15 PM on Thursday, July 26, members of Girl Scout Troop 65388 will be hosting a storytime and craft afternoon at that time. Donations of new or gently used art supplies for the New Jersey Coalition to House the Homeless will be greatly appreciated. Please register for this event by stopping by the children’s room or calling (908) 754-7885 ext 4.
