Did you miss a movie that you wanted to see in the theaters and don’t want to pay to rent it or for the DVD? Come to “Monday Night Movies” at the library.  It’s all the fun of a movie theater but none of the cost.  We are showing brand new releases every Monday night and we will be providing popcorn for all who attend.  This week’s movie is the adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s 2013 best seller Crazy Rich Asians and stars Constance Wu, Henry Golding, and Michelle Yeoh. This movie follows native New Yorker Rachel Chu (Wu) as she accompanies her longtime boyfriend, Nick Young (Golding), to his best friend's wedding in Singapore. Excited about visiting Asia for the first time but nervous about meeting Nick's family, Rachel is unprepared to learn that Nick has neglected to mention a few key details about his life. It turns out that he is not only the son of one of the country's wealthiest families but also one of its most sought-after bachelors. Being on Nick's arm puts a target on Rachel's back, with jealous socialites and, worse, Nick's own disapproving mother (Yeoh) taking aim. Please be advised, the movie is rated pg-13. The movie that is shown on Monday night will also be shown again on the subsequent Wednesday at 12:30 pm for those that can’t make the Monday night showing or don’t like to drive at night.  Stop by the library and pick up a schedule of the movies being shown.
