EDISON-- The basketball and cheer teams at The Wardlaw+Hartridge School in Edison began practice on Tuesday, Jan. 12. Middle School basketball players worked out in Plumeri Gym from 3:15-4:15, with Upper School athletes taking the courts afterward. Cheer teams in both divisions conducted their practice sessions on the stage in the Berry Performing Arts Center. All athletes wore masks throughout the drill sessions and will continue to follow a mask policy.
Middle School swimmers will begin practice next week, while the Upper School swimmers and track athletes will start on or before Feb. 1. Upper School teams will compete against other schools, while Middle School sports will be intramural during the winter season.
Below are the competition dates set by the NJSIAA, the state's governing body for athletics:
Basketball: Jan. 26 – March 6
Swimming and Winter Track: Feb. 16 – March 27
Girls' Volleyball: March 16 – April 24
