What is the Paleo Diet? The Paleo diet is a "blueprint" plan to mimic the foods consumed by our caveman ancestors long before foods such as milk, cheese, legumes, potatoes, and cereal grains, like wheat and corn, were introduced to our diet.
While there are many variations of eating Paleo out there, the Paleo Diet is NOT purely an Atkins, low-carb, meat-intensive diet. Contrary to popular belief, it is not just about eating eggs, bacon, and steak to your stomach's content.
The Paleo Diet IS about eating liberal quantities of vegetables, moderate fruits and moderate protein intake throughout the day. It is also about regaining your symbolic relationship with natural food and the wonderful benefits it provides for our health.
New, exciting research in genetics shows that what we eat has an enormous effect on how well our genes function independent of what we may have inherited from our parents. The Paleo Diet uses clues from nature to design a template that is right for you and our shared genetic history.
