Intro to Yin/Yang Yoga

Yin/Yang yoga blends two styles of yoga into one practice, balancing the benefits of passively holding yoga poses for periods of time with the more active sequences and standing postures of gentle hatha yoga.

Yin poses are quietly held in comfortable positions to target connective tissues, ligaments, fascia and complement the Yang poses that focus on muscle engagement and movement. The complement of each style in one practice can improve energy and flexibility while developing stability and comfort.

Session will conclude with a guided relaxation. Participants should dress comfortably, bring a yoga mat, and be in reasonably good health. No prior yoga experience is required.

Teacher Kimberly LaMendola is certified by the Himalayan Institute and registered with Yoga Alliance.
