Juneteenth Celebration

Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the end of slavery in the United States and this is the first year NJ is officially recognizing the day as an official state holiday. Celebrate the 156th anniversary with us starting on June 16 by helping us paint a mural at the intersection of Liberty Street, George Street, and Livingston Avenue in New Brunswick.Then join us for the New Brunswick Area NAACP’s in-person celebration and flag raising at Monument Square Park on June 17 at 3 pm. Finally, we wrap up with the Metuchen Edison NAACP Zoom Program on June 19 at 11:30 am.
