Ornamental and Edible Flowers

Why limit your garden space to plants that are simply eye catching and attractive to look at. Grow ornamental plants which are both pleasing  to the eyes, and to the palate.

Learn which flowering plants are edible, in this engaging presentation on the morning of June 11th at the Livingston Public Library.

The presenter is Althea Llewellyn, a certified Square Foot Gardening Instructor, Master Tree Steward, and a certified Master Gardener.

As a certified Square Foot Gardening Instructor, Althea teaches gardening to hundreds of  YMCA Summer Campers throughout Union and Essex Counties.

As a Master Gardener, she currently serves on the Board of the Master Gardeners of Union county and co-manages a Berry patch at their demonstration garden site at Trailside, located in Watchung Reservation.

On staff at a historic public garden in Summit NJ,-Reeves-Reed Arboretum, she develops environmental programs, and conducts gardening workshops and lectures.

Althea has a simple message: Anyone can develop a green thumb! She focuses her efforts on empowering individuals towards greater health and a greater quality of life, through gardening.

In this program, participants will explore the world of edible flowers, try their hands at creating candied flower petals. And finish with a sampling of a floral treat.
