Peaceful Poetry Reading Series - West Caldwell

The West Caldwell Public Library will present a weekly virtual “Peaceful Poetry Reading Series” featuring 15 accomplished poets from throughout Essex County. The poetry readings can be viewed on Thursdays at 6:00 pm on the Library’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. Each poet will share a 15-minute video of him/her reading some of their favorite poems, which are intended to offer you tranquility and peace of mind during these times.

The sixth poetry reading, airing on Thursday, June 11 at 6:00 pm, will feature book editor, poet and college writing professor Theresa Burns of South Orange, who will read some poems from her recent chapbook of poems Two Train Town as well as some of her new poems. Her poetry, reviews and nonfiction have appeared in the New York Times, Prairie Schooner , Bellevue Literary Review, America Magazine, New Ohio Review and Upstreet. She was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2018 and her chapbook of poems, Two Train Town, was recently published by Finishing Line Press. A long-time book editor in New York and Boston, she has taught writing at Seton Hall University, the Fashion Institute of Technology, and the 92nd Street Y in New York City.

Some of the other award-winning poets participating in the weekly virtual “Peaceful Poetry Reading Series” include Sandra Duguid, Diane Lockward (who organized the Poetry Reading Series), and Michael Mandzik of West Caldwell and Ted Eisenberg of North Caldwell.
