FAIR LAWN & GLEN ROCK, NJ – With pandemic safety guidelines in place, the American Cancer Society has canceled all in-person fundraising events. However, the Fair Lawn and Glen Rock Relay For Life will go on in a virtual setting. On Saturday, May 30 at 6 p.m., the chapter will host a modified, interactive Relay For Life, live on its Facebook page @RFLfairlawnglenrocknewjersey. Everyone is invited to log onto Facebook to “attend” the interactive program, which will be held for one hour.

Scheduled features, similar to those in a live Relay, will include:

• Caregiver and survivor speeches
• Remarks by Mayors Kurt Peluso and Kristine Morieko of Fair Lawn and Glen Rock
• Entertainment by singers Julia Knitel (most recently of Broadway’s “Beautiful”), Felicia Temple (“The Voice” and international touring performer) and others

Fundraising by teams and individuals will continue until September. Area residents, friends and neighbors are encouraged to support this community-wide event by visiting the chapter website at http://bit.ly/Relayflgrnj for donation opportunities, such as ordering a custom-decorated luminaria bag; luminaria orders placed by May 20 will be available for donors to display at home during the community Relay.
