Montclair, NJ – May 6, 2019 – A star studded line up of Broadway actors, and singers extraordinaire, including two time Tony Nominee, Kate Baldwin will lend their talents to raise funds for Interfaith Hospitality Network for the Homeless of  Essex County, (IHN), a Montclair based family shelter and housing assistance program.  Titled “When I Think of Home”, the cabaret and comedy event will be held on Monday, May 20th at The Woodland, 60 Woodland Road, in Maplewood.  Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with a cocktail hour, followed by live performances at 8:00 p.m.  A live auction of tickets to current Broadway shows with a back stage tour, include:   “The Prom,”, “Wicked”, and “The Lion King” and will occur concurrently.

“When I Think of Home” is the brain child of long time Maplewood resident and veteran Broadway star Robert DuSold (Les Miserables, Jekyll & Hyde, The Producers), and is co-chaired by IHN Board President, and South Orange resident Chris Murphy.

Murphy said he is thrilled this year’s show will feature a special performance by Kate Baldwin, who most recently received a Tony Award, Drama Desk, and Outer Critic’s Circle award nomination for her role as the saucy Irene Malloy in the revival of “Hello Dolly! where she co-starred opposite Bette Midler, David Hyde Pierce, and Gavin Creel.

DuSold, who is well known in the area for organizing charity fundraisers for a variety of important causes, will be joined on stage by Broadway stars from Wicked, Hello Dolly, Mamma Mia, Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Fiddler on the Roof, Showboat, Chicago, The Lion King, Memphis, and Les Miserables.   The actors, all of whom agreed to volunteer their time and talents, were moved by DuSold’s passion to rally around the issue of homelessness affecting vulnerable families in Essex County.

The singers will be accompanied by the incredibly talented pianist and composer, John O’Neill, Hugh Jackman’s accompanist!

About Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) of Essex County – IHN’s mission is to help homeless and at-risk families achieve self-sufficiency by providing shelter, social services and housing assistance through a community-based approach. An affiliate of Family Promise, IHN’s shelter program is supported by a network of area churches and synagogues that provide families with children a place to stay and three meals a day. While families are in the shelter network, IHN works with the moms and dads on a plan that addresses the issues that led to their homelessness. Goals are set and parents are compassionately guided to take the steps necessary to find a home and become self-sufficient.  More information can be found at www.ihnessexnj.org
