The Jaffe Briefing - October 16, 2019

ATLANTIC CITY – There was never a real gamble to allow legal sports wagering in New Jersey, as we all have that insatiable thirst for sports and betting, preferably with a beer and a wing. And so there is absolutely no surprise that Atlantic City has shattered its own record, with $445 million wagered on sports last month, the largest total since the first bet was placed last June.

The Star-Ledger notes that our mega-wealthy were paying a 70 percent income tax rate in the 1970s. Every since, rates have steadily ...

The Jaffe Briefing - October 8, 2019

ASBURY PARK – Assume there are many residents of this liberal seashore enclave who have been enjoying some politically-tinged lawn signs that one resident continually places on his Third Avenue property – slamming President Trump with an ongoing stream of slogans. There have been plenty of colorful descriptions, like “unhinged,” “psychotic,” ...

Making a date over pastrami is not only easy but also ...
