The Sparta Recreation Deparment is holding thier annual winter festival beginning with fun for all ages at the Sparta Middle School from 1 to 4 p.m.

They will have carnival boots and games of chance, Inflatables, face painting, sand art, GaGa pit, magic show, yoga demonstrations, dance demonstrations, broom hockey (by Skylands Ice World), additional demonstrations.

Sparta Police: Drug Charges for Driver Who Would Not Move Over

SPARTA, NJ – A traffic stop on Route 15 ended with drug charges for the driver, a Jersey City resident.  On May 19 around 3 p.m. Officer Thomas Herd stopped Brandon Khusial, 20 for failing to keep right, police said.

Sparta Police: West New York Men Speed to Drug Charges

SPARTA, NJ – Two men are facing drug charges after being stopped for speeding on Route 15.  On May 16 around 9:30 a.m. Officer Jonathan Poon stopped Daniel Guzman, 25 in a white Buick for going 77 MPH in a 55 MPH zone, police said.

When Poon spoke with the West New York driver, he smelled marijuana.  Guzman admitted there was pot in the car, police said.

SPARTA, NJ – A traffic stop on Route 15 ended with two men in custody; both had warrants and one had drugs.  On May 13 around 11 p.m. Officer Thomas Herd stopped a black Jeep Patriot for a broken license plate light, police said.
