EAST ORANGE, NJ - The City of East Orange, Ted R. Green Foundation, Leslie Seale and the Estate of Althea Gibson have announced a celebration in honor of the life and legacy of tennis great (and East Orange resident) Althea Gibson. The festivities will begin with a renaming of Soverel Field as Althea Gibson Park on Friday August 23, 2019.
