Our publisher once jokingly remarked that nobody gets rich working in the world of local journalism. 

Since I am not writing this from the comfort of my beach house, I tend to agree. I might not be watching the sunset over a white sand beach, but I have a roof over my head, food in the fridge, and plenty of bacon treats for my dog. Honestly, wanting more than that seems greedy.

I’m definitely a country mouse, and rarely go into New York City, so I was delighted that Broadway came to me in the form of the Somers Middle School spectacular production of “The Lion King Jr.”

(In Person) Defensive Driving Workshop

Defensive Drivers Discount is a 6-hour defensive driving class designed similarly to the AARP course and offers participants insurance fee and point reductions.

There is a $30 fee (cash only) to be paid directly to the instructor on the day of the presentation.

There will be a half hour break for lunch and 2 shorter breaks during the day. Registration is required as seating is limited.
