South Plainfield – Barbara Ann Costante, 66, died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Brooklyn to the late Francis and Joseph Cantelmo, Barbara resided in Hoboken before setting to South Plainfield where she raised her three children.
A stay at home mom, Barbara was able to continue the love she shared for her children with her four grandchildren. Whether it was watching movies, listening to music or dancing the night away to Uptown Girl by Billy Joel, her favorite song, she was always the life of the party and would brighten a room with her smile as she made everyone feel welcome. Christmas was Barbara’s favorite holiday, she loved to have the entire family celebrating together and she was always loved picking out the biggest and fullest tree. Barbara always made the holiday extra magical.
After her children had grown, Barbara worked at CVS in South Plainfield for over 20 years in the photo and hallmark department.
Predeceased by her twin brother, Frank Cantelmo; surviving are her husband, Gerard “Jerry” Costante of South Plainfield; three children, Anthony Costante of San Diego, CA, Joseph Costante of Jersey City and Lisa Burgio and husband Steven of Brick, NJ; sisters, Amy Cochol and husband Warren and Francis Cantelmo and two brothers, Louie Cantelmo and wife Rosemary and Robert Cantelmo.
She will also be missed by her four grandchildren, Joey, Steven, Anthony and Ashley and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 10:30AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by burial in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
Family and friends may gather on Tuesday from 1-5PM in the funeral home.
