Barbara Ruth Povich, 90, died Wednesday November 21, 2018 at CareOne at the Highlands in Edison.
Born in Chicago, IL, Barbara resided in Melrose Park as a child then moved to Arlington Heights, IL. She settled to South Hamilton, MA with her late husband, John prior to moving to Bridgewater. Recently, she has relocated to Edison for a short time.
Barbara worked at Eastman Kodak prior to marriage then went on to care for her two children, Susan and John. When they were grown, she drove for Barker Bus Company where she made two life long friends, Sue and Lucinda.
A member of New Beginnings, Barbara enjoyed traveling with Irene and Roseanne. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading and cooking. She most enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, and will be forever remembered as a loving grandmother, mom and wife.
Predeceased by her husband John; surviving are her two children, Susan Povich DelConte and husband Ross of Edison and John Povich and wife Ginger of Piscataway; grandchildren, Andrew, Timothy, Meghan (David), Jillian, John; bonus grandson, Ross (Jenn) and bonus great grandsons, Benjamin and Brayden.
She will also be missed by her friend, Bernadette Bavoso and brother, Arnold (Janice) and their children, Tom, Carl and Christine as well as extended family and friends.
To know Barbara is to know she is happy to be finally “going somewhere”. God Bless you on your journey.
Family and friends may gather on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road Piscataway NJ 08854 from 3-7PM. Funeral services will begin at 6:30PM.
