Marie E. Greasheimer, 86 of Lincroft, died peacefully at home on Monday, September 7, 2020

She was born in Paterson, New Jersey in 1934 where she graduated from Eastside High School before she married her first husband, Robert O. Carrdine who pre-deceased her.

Marie began her career in finance. While raising her two sons she met and married her husband, Matthew Greasheimer and fulfilled her dream of buying a home with a lot of property for her kids to play outside in the bucolic town of Lincroft New Jersey in 1967. After working for the family toy store “Little Silver Mikes” Marie soon became a licensed real estate agent where she worked for many years at Weichert Realty in Holmdel before retiring.

Family was especially important to Marie, and she was very proud of her Italian and German ancestry.

It was a tradition for all to come together, family and the occasional neighbor, on Sundays, for a wonderful homemade pot of sausage meatballs and pasta and the special occasion eight layer birthday cake.

Marie’s life was centered around community and God. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner at St. Catharine’s for over 54 years singing in the choir with her best friends Camille and Dee and so many others she became so fond of. She shared many vacations to places like Alaska and Hawaii with her husband and her very cherished trip with her choir to The Vatican in Italy.

A lover of nature and the outdoors Marie could be found spending every August up at her favorite place, the family lake house in Connecticut, at home gardening, feeding the deer or caring for her beloved cats.

A true patriot Marie loved this country and worked the voting polls in Lincroft Middletown for many years.

She is predeceased by her husband Matthew Greasheimer in 2015, and her sister Dorothy Waltz.

Surviving are her two sons Robert and his wife Dana Carrdine and Ronald and his wife Diana Carrdine, two sisters, Helen Lauterio, Elma Stoveken and her husband Jim, two grandchildren, Jessie and Wyatt Carrdine and her great grandson, Cameron.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 11 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 am at Church of St. Catharine’s, 108 Middletown Road, Holmdel, NJ 07733. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery & Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel.
