Michael Petro, age 72, of Manahawkin, NJ, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Veterans Hospital of East Orange, NJ. 

Born in Trenton, NJ, he lived in Beach Haven, NJ prior to Manahawkin where he resided for the last 42 years. He served his country proudly in the Marine Corps, and during 1968-1969 in the Vietnam war, Bastard Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 13th Regiment. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Clayton Block, Waretown, NJ as a Block Truck Driver. Mike loved fresh water fishing, flea markets and his beloved Eagles and Phillies.

Michael is predeceased by his sister, Cecelia Grochala.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne (nee Sprague) Petro, his son, Michael D. Petro and his wife Christine, his daughter, Samantha Reed and her husband Joe, his brother, John Petro and his wife Donna, his two sisters, Mary Lou Buchannan and Donna Veldoff, his grandchildren, Carly, Gracie & Michael L. Petro, as well as his many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be on Sunday, July 11 from 1pm to 4pm with a funeral service, 4pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ.
