Norma V. Mazzucco, nee Laia, 93, of Hillsborough, died peacefully on February 24, 2022.

Born in Bayonne to the late Renato and Maddalena Laia (nee Mocchi), her family settled to Bradley Gardens. She is a 1946 graduate of Somerville High School and went on to marry her beloved husband, the late John A. Mazzucco in 1948. Norma worked for PSE&G as an accounts payable clerk until 1956 when she left her job to raise her family.

The Mazzuccos lived in Somerville for 27 years where Norma was an Accounts Payable Clerk for The Borough of Somerville where she dedicated 25 years to the Borough before retiring in 1991.  Norma is a former resident of Readington Township for 34 years before moving to Hillsborough in 2011. She was a devout communicant of The Church of The Immaculate Conception in Somerville since 1949 where she was a member of the Alter Rosary Society and enjoyed volunteering as a catechist for twenty-one years. She also volunteered for fifteen years in The Office on Aging in Flemington as a counselor for Medicare chime program for seniors and was a member of the Hillsborough Seniors.

Norma enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, reading, and quality time spent with her cherished family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, John A. Mazzucco in 2001.

Surviving are her loving children, daughter Jeanne Mazzucco and son John Jay Mazzuco and wife Lee both of Hillsborough, her cherished grandchildren, Brian (Lena) Mazzucco, Lauren and John Szukis, and Dylan Levash, her dear sister Elena Bioidi of Green Brook, and brother Joseph Laia of Florida, as well as her nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Monday, February 28, 2022, at The Church of The Immaculate Conception, 35 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.
